[Hiro, upon waking up on the outskirts of Luceti's town, sits up with a start, accidentally smacking the record button on his (open) journal. The following can be heard...]

What happened? Where's Daichi? ...Where's my shirt and my jacket- oh, here they are! Why are there holes in the back? ...My back! There's THINGS on them! Oh my god- OW! They don't come off! Wait, my shirt fits over the things- hey, they're thing-holes! Huh... hey, I can move the things! They're like... wings! And the thing-holes are wing-holes! WAIT, this means I have wings! But how? Wait, where's my cell phone? Crap! I can't defend myself against demons without my cell phone... Gotta find my cell phooooone! ...Hey, wait, what's this?

[Some fumbling sounds are heard, and the recording abruptly ends.]

Oh... Well, I can't really call home for a variety of reasons, but I was hoping to at least call my friends and tell them where I am... hmm, now I'm worried about them...

...Hey, isn't this the item shop? Let's go inside. [He gives the map another looking over, making sure he's in the right place.]

[He enters the item store, glancing around. Maybe there's some new things today.] What do your phone look like?

Yeah. Sorry, the idea just takes some getting used to. I'm sure everything'll be fine...

[He's already begun scanning the shelves, picking up a few things and looking under them.] It's blue, and it has a top screen that can flip sideways. If you turn it on, you should be able to find my demon summoning app easily. Oh! And we have to look for the charger, too. That's very important.

[He pause and looks over at Hiro.]

...The demon summoning program won't work here. [This boy got the program as well, but on a cell phone?]

Uh oh. How do you know? Do you have a demon summoning program of your own? [He pauses, nervously looking past Kouki at the shelves.] Do you at least have access to your skills? I'll be fine if I at least have those... [Deep breaths, Hiro.] I know I shouldn't worry because there aren't any demons here, but I can't help it. I'm too used to there being demons everywhere.

[He used to have the program, but as the King, it's meaningless to him.]

I can still use my skills, so do my friend. Even without constant demons, there might be a time when you need to fight.

Oh, okay, that's a relief. I expected as much... I'm used to always being prepared for a fight at this point. [Suddenly, he spots his phone in a pile of things.] Aha! Found you! [He immediately turns it on and checks the summoning app.] Just as you said... my demons are all gone. But my skills are still here. What a relief, I can still protect myself... now that I have this, I don't have to worry so much. Now to find the charger!

[He chuckles, before resuming his search.] ...Where did you get the summoning program from, by the way? A program like that is incredibly complex.

[He continues fiddling with his phone, gripping it tightly.] Let's see... since there's no one to do the healing for me, I oughtta set Diarahan- Oh! [Derp, caught strategizing on the fly!] Sorry about that. Um... everyone who subscribed to this website called Nicaea got the demon summoning app downloaded to their phones immediately when our crisis started. That's how it got so widespread... Nicaea itself was a bit of a strange site. People would receive "death clips" showing how their friends would die... I used the death clips to prevent a lot of my friends from dying. [His smile is small, but clearly melancholy.]

If you're going start strategising, keep them in your mind. Different worlds mean all spells don't share the same name, but there's a chance the enemy might know the name and counteract.

[After a while, he find a charger. But won't mention it, yet.] Nicaea...that sound similiar to the Laplace Mail. We don't get our programs from Laplace Mail, since it's a part of our modded COMPs.

Oh, uh, right. Gotcha. ...Eh? What's the Laplace Mail? And a COMP? I think it's your turn to tell me your story.

A COMP is a handheld console. I don't have it with me, since it's back at my place. [He can fight without it, anyway.] A Laplace Mail is an news email service that reported "predictions" of the day. I used them to save people from dying.

[Only whoever got reported. The rest are anyone the group manage to meet with. He turns around and hold out the charger.]

Huh... seems we have pretty similar stories. Isn't that funny? We both have demon summoning programs with functions that told us who would die... maybe our worlds are related somehow? [He spots the charger and takes it.] Thank you! Hmm, I wonder if there's something else I should pick up while I'm here... then again, it wouldn't be good if I was weighed down when moving into a place. Maybe I should at least get a bag...

It's quite possible. I know different worlds are real back home, so it's not that much of a stretch.

A bag would be fine. Worst case, you'll accidentally take someone else's bag, but you can always return it later.
